Excellence Award (Infrastructure and Building Category): Perth Main Sewer Section 3 Rehabilitation Project (joint winner with Transfield Tunnelling)

2001 Association of Consulting Engineers Australia (ACEA) SMEC received the ACEA Gold Award of Merit for the Beulahdelah Deviation project undertaken for the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority (Category 1 - Civili Infrastructure) and for the Road Maintenance and Development Project in Nepal carried out for the Department of Roads of HM Government of Nepal (Category 6 - Community Focus).
2001 Engineering News Record For some years SMEC has been included in the annual survey of the Top 200 International Design Firms complied by the US Publication Engineering News Record. In 2001 SMEC was listed at 79, up from 88 the previous year.
