ALASTAIR McKENDRICK

Alastair McKendrick is Chief Financial Officer for the SMEC Group. He holds a Bachelor of Business Degree, majoring in Accounting, and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.

Alastair brings to SMEC an extensive background in the senior management of large corporations both in Australia and overseas.

His international experience includes:

• periods in England, working on internal control and audit issues with local government bodies,
• the role of Finance Director for Progressive Enterprises Ltd. in New Zealand, a $2 billion turnover retail, wholesale, fast food restaurant organisation, ranked in the top 25 on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
• the role of Finance and Systems Director of Wellcome Hong Kong Ltd., with responsibilities in Hong Kong and Southern China.

In addition, Alastair also chaired the cross-industry body responsible for the introduction of EDI (electronic data interchange) into the retail and manufacturing sectors within Hong Kong.

Alastair joined SMEC in January 1999 and was appointed General Manager Finance in May 2000. He is responsible for the overall financial management of the Group and the ongoing development of systems to meet the needs of a growing and complex multi-national organisation.
