SAM LACKEY

Sam Lackey is General Manager of Project Finance in the SMEC Development Group based in Sydney. He has a BE (Hons I) in Civil Engineering, a Graduate Diploma in Mining and a PhD in Geomechanics from UNSW with a MBA from Stanford University. Sam combines the technical understanding of an engineer with the business nous of a banker.Sam has 15 years of international engineering and construction experience as well as 15 years of international banking, venture capital, corporate and project finance experience. As a corporate banker, Sam has arranged large debt facilities for Fortune 500 type companies in USA. As a venture capitalist, Sam has valued intellectual property and made equity investments in Australian start-up companies. As a project financier, Sam has advised and arranged the financing for the privatisation of many major infrastructure projects around the world such as power stations, roads, ports, water treatment plants and railways.
