SMEC's first project in Mongolia is the Ministry of Health and Social  Welfare/Asian Development Bank funded Health Sector Development Program.  SMEC is now actively pursuing a number of other projects in Mongolia in  various sectors, and the establishment of a representative office in the  capital Ulaanbaatar.   

  • MONGOLIA HEALTH SECTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (1998-2002)   

Assistance to the Mongolian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare with the  implementation of restructuring of the nation's health sector. The aim of  the restructure is to shift the emphasis from hospital-based treatment  services towards quality primary care through general practitioners, and  to change the funding basis towards efficiency and market principles.
