ADFIP MIDDLE MANAGEMENT TRAINING PROJECT (1995-1998) Client: Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) Managing Contractor with responsibility for the management of the design and delivery of 3 training courses designed to promote the effective and efficient management of development finance institutions in the Pacific region. The project, undertaken for the Association of Development Finance Institutions in the Pacific (ADFIP), included the development, over a 3-year period, of an in-region capacity to continue the training program. WORLD BANK KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT STUDY (1997) Client: World Bank Coordination of a study of the potential for information technology transfer in the Pacific Island countries of Tonga, Western Samoa and Fiji, involving the development of a knowledge assessment of key issues, resources and personnel. STORES MANAGEMENT TRAINING (1996) Client: Various Design and delivery of 2 training courses in Stores
Management to develop the capabilities of various government ministries and
departments, government-owned instrumentalities, and private organisations
throughout the Pacific region. The courses included a week-long course in Basic
Stores Management for personnel of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services
(Solomon Islands) and Abamakoro Trading Ltd (Kiribati), and a 2-week course in
Basic Stores Management/Advanced Stores Management for personnel of the Ministry
of Health and Family Planning (Kiribati), Telecom Services (Kiribati), and the
Ministry of Health (Tonga). Services also included post-course evaluation. COMMODITIES ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO THE PACIFIC ISLAND COUNTRIES (1989-1996) Client: Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) Procurement in Australia of commodities for recipient Governments in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Kiribati, Cooks Islands and Niue for use in approved development activities, including technical advisory services to AusAID and assistance with program planning missions relating to the procurement and associated activities. The procurement services involved commercial tendering, bid evaluation, procurement and expediting for the commodities, including the preparation of cost and availability reports, technical specifications and bidding documents, the issue of contracts, monitoring of contract progress, inspection and quality assurance of the commodities, delivery and commissioning. TERTIARY HEALTH SERVICES FOR PACIFIC ISLAND COUNTRIES (1995) Client: Royal Australasian College of Surgeons / Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) The project involved the provision of teams of specialists to provide tertiary health services to 10 nations in the pacific region. SMEC provided project management services including assistance with initial needs analysis visits, preparation of the Project Implementation Document, and establishment of a Project Management Secretariat, a Project Management Committee, and an Evaluation and Monitoring Committee. PURCHASING FOR GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, PACIFIC ISLAND COUNTRIES (1993 ongoing) Client: Various Procurement agent for various Government ministries, departments, authorities and instrumentalities of Pacific Island countries. Services include the sourcing, buying, insuring and shipping of a large range of commodities. |
