| SMEC has been closely involved
with airport development since its responsibility as Snowy Mountains
Authority for the design, construction and maintenance of Cooma airport to
provide access to the Snowy Mountains Scheme in the 1950s. The compnay has
contributed to many airport projects both in Australia (including both the
proposed new Sydney Airport and small regional airports) and overseas.
